Gastrin insufficiency

A few years ago I saw an incredible program on TV that showed a child before and after bowel surgery.  He happened to have autism...but after the surgery it was 'cured'.  And there was a video of the before child who rocked and was uncommunicative and the 'after' child who was speaking and interacting with his father in a normal way.  It was nothing short of miraculous.  It was determined that a hormone called, I believe, Gastrin was given to the child during surgery as some kind of protective drug for the lining of the G.I. track.  We know that there is a hormonal connection between the brain and the intestines.  Have there been more trials concerning this Gastrin as a treatment for autism?  It seems to me that kids with Aspberger Syndrome and autism all seem to have digestive distrubances.  So it seems reasonable to link the two.

If medical science only knew for sure what the definitive cause of Asperger's was, it could eventually be eliminated. My wife and I believe our son's Asperger's was triggered by his immunization shots, those MMRs. How we have wished we could go back in time and get the individual shots and not the combo shots. If Gastrin is indeed the answer I will cry my eyes out to Our Blessed God if it helps.
