I want to put it out in the community that after what seems like years my Grandson Kendal who last year this time had brain surgery @ Duke Medical to remove a cyst pushing into the hippa champas . Since the surgery he has had 2 brain scans where he goes in, gets fitted and hooked up to a monotor and goes home for the weekend and all activity is gathered and then the machine is returned and sent to a specialtist. The results both time since having the cyst removed still shows seziure activity.
Well this is only the tip of the iceburge
My grandson, age 12 has aspergers, touretts, and ocd. Finally after 6 years with the very best neouroligst .....everyone feels good about this diags. being on target. So now his therapy and possible med change will be in order.
His first report card this year was sporting all A's and B's,he is first year middle school.

I am posting this here because I need help in keeping this into perspective I am a bucket load of emotions right now, even though we have suspected it all along.
I will probally refer my daughter to this site so that you guys can share your infinate wisdom and words of support....She is pretty knowledable but it can get overwhelming.....................TY so much for taking the time to read this and I am open to any suggestions....................Much Love

What a great looking boy!!  He really is handsome.  It sounds like you all have had a lot ----  and I mean a LOT----- going on.  I'm glad all surgeries are over but am sorry he is still having seizures.  Hopefully he has good doctors that will get the right cocktail for him in terms of medication that will help this.

I think that when we know something is out of sync and know a diagnosis is coming-----  there is almost a sense of relief when it finally does.  But then we must  deal with what this means for the future.  I felt like (and my son has sensory integration disorder which is a developemental delay of the nervous system) it was such a sad thing until I thought about it.  Then I realized that my kid is awesome----  I mean, he really is.  And a diagnosis didn't change anything about that.  It just gave us the information we needed to move forward.  My son is younger (almost 6) but we've worked really hard on all issues and have seen great improvement.  That is what a diagnosis does-----  it allows you to work on the issues now that you know what they are.  My end goal was for him to be happy and fulfilled.  We have issues to work on forever, but his happiness is how I will judge our success.  Anyway, tell your daughter that there are many parents going through the same thing and to come here to connect with them.  Good luck!
