HRV (Heart Rate variability) Biofeedback lower stress - lower symptoms

I've been seeing someone for a couple years now taking a new treatment called Neurofeedback, and while I rave about it I forget to mention the biofeedback he has me do call HRV (Heart Rate variability). HRV is a simple at home system that a person can buy (not cheap though $300 i think it was). In involves breathing and lowers ones stress to get the bodys heart and breathing rythms to match. Its what perfessional athleics people really strive for.

Having Asperger's syndrome I know just how much stress cuases an increase in all the negetive problems that crop up, at times when stress reached its peak, but I haddn't quite freaked out and shut down im sure I resembled someone more with real autism instead of just Asperger's.

Anyway HRV is great. Its...how can I discribe it? I feels like im cheating, physicaly and to some degree mentaly stress instantly went away. It first it just seemed silly, I would pratice this with my sessions with therapyst and wouldn't put much stock into it, but then one day I really needed to calm down cuase I knew "freaking out" would be really bad right then and i really didn't want too. so i started doing the HRV and whoosh, I just felt my whole body shift like 3 degrees to calmness, and it was defeinlay what i was doing not what i was thinking becuase i would stop and i would get all anxious again really quickly.

While I can't allways predict "sudden death freak outs" i know that ive im stressed they're way more likely to occur, and lack of control is one of the greatest causes of anxitiy and unpredictible "freak outs" are one of my greatest fears. HRV has given me control back, at least partly. Its not a drug, its not somthing im even slightly dependant on, its something I can do by myself, anytime anywhere.

If you or someone you know feels like they need some control over themselfs, (this is even good for people with anxiity or panic attacks) this is a great, easy and compartivly cheap way of getting help.
