I think my niece may have AS

by auntjo123, Oct 23, 2009 11:52AM
My niece we suspect has AS. she is 30 years old and has left the family leaving a letter stating that she has disolved any relationship with her entire family. This has left us all devestated, especially her parents. She was always envolved with projects, writing, art, extensive reading, but didn't play much like other children She was always focused intently on accomplishments. She would always ask the most unusual questions like She was interviewing you for an article to write. Sometimes the questions were downright embarasing but she didn't think they were. She once asked me what did I think my husband saw in me? Once she said I was her favorite Aunt so I don't think She was being sarcastic. She was about 15 at the time. She excelled in school all through to collage making all of us proud. She never liked to be hugged or touched. Only as She became a young adult would She let you give her a little hug but without touching much. You had to do this hug quickly or She would frown and wiggle out of it. Her parents found out where she moved to and went to discuss this drama with her. She was very evasive and the second time they went over to see her she didn't say ONE WORD! .I am writting to anyone who can give me some insight if possible and if this behaviour is condusive to someone with AS.
