apergers and over eating

Hi
I am new to this forum. I have a 19 yr old daughter with aspergers.  Current issue is that she is overeating, now weights 100kg +. She sneak eats and steals our money to obtain food. She has tried all types of eating plans but can't stick to them. She is insulin resistant, has an under active thyroid. She is supposed to be taking metformin and thyroxin but only does so occasionally. She seems to lack motivation. She works in child care and loves the work.  she lives at home. Any suggestions on why she is doing this and how to help?

I have struggled with that issue as a my whole life. I think it is both a comforting issue and a sensory issue. She like many others is probably sensitive to tast texture, touch and sounds. It kind of clears the over input on the brain. Maybe she should try laud classical music or jazz. I find this helps in about the same way.
