How's abouta little sinus eruption

by Danie1892, Apr 19, 2008 02:19PM
I'm 16 right now and for at least 4 years I've had nasal problems where my nose would be constantly congested. It never stops and I've put up with it so long and have taken numerous antibiotics for it but it never subsides. Only now people are telling me that it might be allergies so I've started on allergy medicine but that hasn't worked either. I was born with a cleft palate and had tubes in my ears and a decent number of sinus infections and ear infections and I would like to know if any of that is connected. Could I please get some insight on this because I don't want to be that sniffly, congested girl any longer.

This is obviously very frustrating for you.  There is a good chance that some relief is possible.  It is possible that in part of the cleft palate tissue there is some deviation in the alignment of the nose and sinuses.  This can be the cause of the sinus infections and ear infections.  Allergies may or may not be increasing the problem by causing additional swelling and drainage.  A good examination by an ENT surgeon and possibly by an allergist should answer these questions and help in the process of providing answers and relief.
