Nose/Headache nightmare

Nose/Headache nightmare

I have been to an ENT several times, tried steroid inhalants, Astelin, antibiotics, over the counter sinus medicines (which help sometimes).  I wake up many, many nights with a headache, that always turns into a migraine for me.  I have been tested for allergies and I have none.  The ENT had a nose scan done on me, but showed no sinus problems at all, but did inidicate that the turbinets in my nose are huge.  The headaches are a nuisance as well as very painful.  I recently had a complete hysterectomy, and I am not on any hormones (symptons very mild).  I thought the symptons might be hormone related before the surgery, however, it all seems worse after the surgery.  I will be 49 years old next week, and this problem has started within the last 2 years.  Is there anything I can do for this pain, or to stop these headaches.  I take imitrex almost nightly now and I don't think that is safe and it's expensive (even with my insurance).  Thank you.

Your headaches may not be caused by ENT disease, especially since your nose and sinuses were normal on the x-rays.  The headaches could also be related to your post-menopausal state but this is unlikely.  Your best choice would be to seek consultation with a specialist at a legitimate headache clinic.  You are a young woman with a long life expectancy and you should do everything possible to get to the cause of your headaches.

If you suffer constantly of headaches, it will be a good idea to take some headache pills,
for example butalbital or imitrex that don`t need a prescription because if you take them, you would not see any side effects (at least if you take regularly).
I will suggest you to visit this website that could give you free information:

Hope this works

I as well just found out I have very large turbinets.  That does give me headaches and my sinus CT scan shows nothing as well.  I do drip blood from the turbinet area on occasion with tightness in that general area, despite bloodwork and CT scan showing normal.  The ENT had previously said that this is caused by enlarged turbinates, and that two things can cause this: Staph and Mold.  Keep following with the doc.  I haven't quite been there yet, but I am on my way.  I hope you feel well soon!!

Have you considered having someone order a sleep study on you?  A great percentage of people who suffer with morning headaches are experiencing sleep apnea.  Lack of oxygen to your brain for those brief periods at night cause your brain tissue to become irritated, thus your headache.  Just a thought.

I believe I have found out what is causing these headaches!  I was taking a "super cleanse" natural supplement from the health food store.  Come to find out, it is made of many types of barks and plants.  I thought about when the headaches started and it was about the same time I started taking these pills, and so I stopped taking them and the headaches are gone!!!  I hope that was it and all stays well!  Thank you for all of your input!!!
