RE: Breathing Difficulty

I do have these symptons at rest, but sometimes during exercise too. What I was trying to say was yes I have these symptons but I can still run a mile

I had my CT scan while in the er at UPMC pittsburgh.  They did the CT scan w dye.,and took a lung xray EKG's lipids thyroid function calcuim   All  fine. They did not think I needed to have a stress test

So I would assume that "the CT scans were technically satisfactory and that your doctors, on the basis of the scans were also able to rule out pulmonary emboli (clots to the lungs) and pulmonary hypertension. " ?

So, I am going to rule out any major lung issue.. Or what other tests would you reccomend? If i did have a clot in my lungs, could it have lasted this long?

As, far as heart issues couldnt I rule out some of the possible conditions, due to the length of time I have had these symptons? I am still alive.. Also, I am 25
As far and getting my throat checked,  ENTput the scope in my nose. said I was red, and irritated   She said my "vocal flap or cords", were losse, and should be nice and tight. I have had coughing issues, after eating,  And I do have reguatation, and wet burps, all despite taking Nexium..  I had a braium x-ray that showed a small sliding hitial hernia.

As far as "disease of the pulmonary blood vessels including pulmonary vasculitis and clots to the lungs "

Couldnt I pretty much rule clots out, due to the above UPMC visit. And what do you mean by pulmonary vasculitis? Is that COPD? I used to smoke for a couple years, but was active all through it. Yes, I have quit smoking.

The only other health problem I have, is 2 years ago I developed left sided facial numbness. I had many mri's all clean. Luckily, it is pretty much gone for the most part now. Becasue you said disease of the respotory muscels.... Could this be nerve related?

I do have some anxiety issues. The reason I question it, is because could it really produce breathing difficuly all day?

I believe that your best bet at this time would be to consult with:  1) a pulmonary specialist with an interest and expertise in chest wall abnormalities and chest/lung mechanics and, 2) a psychiatrist.  I also recommend that you engage in a regular exercise program.  This has been proven to be helpful with a variety of thoracic, lung and functional disorders of breathing or respiratory drive.

Good luck

Though, I am no expert. As far as breathing muscels...
I def. have a strong suction when I need to, and I def can blow out (force) decent. I can blow up a ballon fairy quickly, so I am not sure about that.

I will say that the pain I describe is hard to describe. Sometimes feels like my lungs dont want to expand. Right now to be honest. when I inhale right as I start to expand my chest I get a streching like pain right in my solar plexus idea. The bottom parts of my ribs (towards the bottom of the ribcage) feel funny and strechy. I do have a popping sensation in my chest, like cracking your nunkles, sometimes when I stretch back or bend forward.

When my breathing gets bad,  bending down, or getting like in a ball position seems to help allot sometimes.

I realize all this could be due to anxiety, but I am not taking a chance with this problem.

Finally, I want to mention that I sleep very good, and the breathing sensation rarley bothers me. It has a couple times, but usually when I am lying down and tired, I am fine and have no breathing issue as far as SOB. I can deal with chest pains and what not, but the SOB is a pain to deal with. It kinda feels like when I expand my lungs, they dont want to expand comfotably as there is pressure or something. My reg breathing is shallow. (i dont breath in allot at rest) This is mainly because when I get a certain amount of air in my lungs, my chest seems like it dosnet want anymore in, and that when I get that stretcy=-pain like feeling in my chest - solar plexus area. However, I can take a huge breath no problem, if I expand my shoulders..

I dont know what else to say. Sorry for the novel.

Thanks again, and I will take any suggestions you have to my doctor.

ok.....

went to my primary care doctor this morning to get all straighted out.

He said:

no way I would have a blood clot for a year, and CT scan and dye rules out disease of the blood vessels, vascual problems, clots, or lung issues.. That with my pulm function tests rules out all lung disesase-problems.

Is that correct?

He has ordered a heart echo graph test. he said this would show any of the cardio problems missed by the EKG, and any pulmonay hypertension...

Is pulmonary hypertension common for my age? is it caused by a heart problem?

Anyways, i am getting the test done. Finally he advised me to get the endoscopy done, as I am on Monday. He said that could be casuing pressure in my esophghas. ect, could effect the breathing.

Finally, he said it could be all anxiety. My mom, grandma, and brother all have anxiety issues, just no physical symptoms from it.

Its hard for me to believe that anxiety could cause breathing issues.

Anyways, he gave me zanex, and Lexapro to try...
