Red mark reappear

by limhendrik, Dec 25, 2007 09:14PM
I'm 30 years old male.  Two weeks ago, i had these red itchy marks or hives all over my body.  After taking some antiphitamine from skin specialist, the hives disappeared in two hours.  However, after couple hours later, the hives reappeared again.  Now I had finished all the pescriptions but still the hives reappear and disappear again in the same parts of my body everytime until today.  Now, when i put a little pressure or scratch my skins, the hives without itchiness reappear for an hour and then it disappears.

Can you advise what i should do?  Is it urticaria or other virus?

Thank you very much.

It is hard to be sure without seeing the rash, but the description is consistent with the diagnosis of hives.  You should contact the skin specialist.  Between the two of you, you may be able to determine the cause; that is, the allergen causing the hives.  That would be ideal, but if you cannot come-up with a cause and avoid it, it may be necessary for you to be treated with a course of oral corticosteroids.
