What you should do depends in part on your age and the characteristics of the pain.  If the pain is worse with breathing, a “stabbing“ pain of pleurisy, or accompanied by new-onset shortness of breath or worse with exertion or different than any chest pain you have ever experienced in the past or if you have a family history of coronary artery disease/heart attacks, you should have this pain checked-out by a doctor, without delay.

Good luck.
