Is cephalexin (brand name Keflex) a sulpha drug?

Keflex® (cephalexin monohydrate) is an antibiotic in the cephalosporin group.  It is related to penicillin but in a different group.  It is not in the sulfa or sulfonamide group of antibiotics.

It belongs to a class of antibiotics known as: Cephalosporins. An allergy to this med could cause a rash.
