Asthma is likely one cause of your “hard to breathe” problem.  Chest pain can also make it hard to breathe. Aching of one’s left arm and the feeling of “numbness of the chest” can be a sign of a pinched nerve or heart disease.

Given these possibilities, I suggest that you should seek help from your doctor to establish and then treat the cause of these symptoms.

Good luck
