Can a person give poison ivy to someone else through everyday contact or sexual contact?

Failure to completely wash away the poison ivy sap with mild soap and water could result in the allergen, urushiol, being transferred to other parts of the body or to other people.  To prevent symptoms the sap must be removed within 10 minutes of contact.  In addition, it is well known that the antigen can also be carried on surfaces and clothing and thus spread.  Incidentally, its effect is not limited to skin but can also incite severe allergic responses on mucous membranes, such as the mouth.
