Asthma, took excess thyroid for 3 months

I took double the amount of thyroid (normal amount for me Armours 1..24 grains & I took 2.5 for 2 1/2 months as a mistake).  I have COPD and bronchiectasis.  My pulse has gone for 70 to 95 per minute, asthma is bad, and fatigue is terrible.    I did not have these before. Blood pressure is ideal and has always been.  My TSH, T3 and T4 are normal now but my symptoms are terrible.  I believe the excess thyroid has irritated the airways.  My spirometry is lower.  Doctors no nothing about this. I believe that there is still toxic or excess thyroid in my body.  I took charcoal but not until two months later.  I hope you can help

Not being a doctor, but taking Synthroid, it's my guess that the pulse, etc. was from a state of Hyperparathyroidism.  Did they use the words Thyroid Storm at all ?  That is when your levels become so hyper that it can actually be life threatening.

I'm wondering if it's going to take time for your body to recoup from the ingestion of too much Armour?

What are you taking now ... the new formulation of Armour or Naturethroid?

I am so sorry this has happened .. so sorry a major flare has ensued with your asthma.  Maybe the shock to your body has brought this on and it will decrease as your body readjusts ... even though your #'s are ok now.

Does the Dr think no permanent damage was done with the asthma end of things?
