In January both myself and my 4 yr old son developed a cough along with a headcold and we can't seem to get rid of it. Both of us have taked antibiotics, and the symptoms have gotten better. The cough for both of us is periodic, but my son has started having what I would call coughing fits when he is running or playing hard. He gets red faced when he coughs and it stops with drinking water and rest. At night when he lays down he coughs as well but not as long.
hi, seems like a lot of this is going around. last oct i got a cold went to dr after two days they gave me meds for it , did not help told me i had asthma , never had before in life, gave me inhalers i didnt use them because i never had asthma, two months later still had no better had the coughing fits to, had to use the inhaler could not breathBreath alcohol test Breath holding spell Breath odor. jan 3 months later still had, put me on a nother inhaler. this id march now . cold/cough gone but took it 4 months, but now sinus are really bad going for a ct scan thursday. not sure what caused that cold but here in georgia so many people who have never had asthma got it this year was a big write up in news paper about it. i also took 4 rounds of antibiotics nothing really helped it , it had to run its course. wishing ya lots luck with this one . all i can say is do the inhalers if you are givin them they help you breathBreath alcohol test Breath holding spell Breath odor and not get worse.
If the doctors think you or your son have bronchial or sinus inflammation, you should take whatever inhalers they give you -- inflammation makes you susceptible to subsequent infections. You won't have to be on them permanently.
