Back pain when I breath

by Mommy_of_four, Oct 05, 2009 12:52AM
So I'm 24yrs old and I have seasonal asthma, but this year it is hitting me a lot sooner and harder. I have had a cough for almost a week now but now I have a pain in the upper right side of my back right below my shoulder blade. When ever I breath in deep to cough it feels like I'm being stabed. It hurts even when I'm not coughing but not as bad. I've never had the back pain befor so I'm worried. What could it be?

I would check with your doctor, you might need to up or add in other medication.  If there is inflammation on the chest or lung wall there can be pain (due to infection).

I know for me, hard coughing can cause pain but only if it is very deep and constant, it is not fun.  However I only have the pain during the coughing and not after.
