Chronic URI & ear fluid issues

This might not be the right forum-I do have asthma.  My question-for years I've been constantly getting URI, bronchitis, pneumonia a few times. The past year or so I've been getting constant ear inf: fluid in the ears which is quite painful, I don't swim.  just throwing it out there-we have 3 cats and I'm the only one who tends the pan-is there any chance this could be a factor? My fiance NEVER gets sick. I do work in retail so I'm exposed to all kinds of stuff, but my co-workers don't get sick like this. I have an appt w/ ENT next Thur-what can I expect there? I don't smoke, normal blood pressure.  Any thoughts appreciate! Oh-I use a neti pot 2x a day due to the cat pans and I keep it sanitary.

Hi,

Welcome to our Asthma Community.  One thing the ENT may explore with you aside from allergies, is whether you have any symptoms of reflux/GERD.

Please come back an keep us posted!

Hope you feel better soon and Happy New Year,

C~

Interesting ..something to maybe ask your doctor about is the hiatal hernia to be sure all is quiet ... reflux can sometimes be happening and never be felt .. happens to my daughter often ... and causes her issues and we never realize it is GERD until her GI puts her on medication and it gets better .. for her it includes asthma + some prior vocal cord nodules which weren't caused by GERD but aggravated by it.

nope-don't have that. I do have hiatal hernia though. It never bothers me-I only found out i have it due to exams I was having when I had kidney infection. (Whichever one they do with and without iodine contrast, i forget if that's CAT or not). I don't get any reflux or indigestion or issues w/any foods.
