Flying with Asthma

What can you tell me about flying  with Asthma that has been serious enough to be hospalized for 4 days, leading to a period of 12 weeks off work?

Flying in a modern commercial airliner should have no effect whatsoever on your asthma. Just be sure to bring your emergency albuterol inhaler. A letter from your physician helps to get these by airport screeners. They are suppossed to allow them, but ten percent doesn't get the word.  And if the oxygen masks ever pop out (unlikely) remember you have to PULL on them to activate the burning (yup) candle that generates the oxygen.
