Frequent cough and fever

Frequent cough and fever

My son is 5. Since he was 2 , he used to have frquent throat infections (as doctors said). I was treated with antibiotics. Since last 2 years or so he started to get frquent high fever and cough. In a bad month he can get 3 or 4 episods which can last for 3 days.

Doctor (paeditricians) seems to be confused and about the causes and sometimes say it is due to allergy or asthma (triggered by allergy) or flume in lungs etc. I am worried about the frequency of occurance and it might affect his studies too.

He seemsto have reduced appetite (in general) and has not gaining much weight.

I need advise as to which specialist I should apparoach to so that the diagnosis can be done correctly. What could be the way forward (from doctors point of view) to carry out the diagnosis.

Thank you very much.
