Steroids

I took a one time dose of 40 mg of prednisone along with albuterol this past weekend due to being in an asthma attack, and Iam still experiencing side effects from the prednisone. How long does a one time dose of prednisone stay in your system, and how long can the side effects last?

I still get some symptoms from prednisone and it's been two years .... Stupid drugs affected my adrenal glands and now stress knocks me flat.

One dose like that should be symptom free after a few days but a severe asthma attack may leave you with symptoms for a bit longer.  My bad attacks would take me a few weeks to feel normal again (whether or not I had to take prednisone).

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi, what are your symptoms? single dose of prednisone, the effects will last for 48 hrs. But steroids can cause gastritis and these effects may persist. If your symptoms persist consult your doctor. Regards.
