System Candida Infection

While I have read that a systemic candida infection is not accepted by all of the medical community, I believe that I may have the symptoms of this. I have found long lists of symptoms, and I have most of them. I am also taking singulair and serevent. Every month or so, I get similar flu-like symptoms, which put me in bed for a few days, and I am happy that I finally think I am on the trail, although no doctor has mentioned candida to me. After a month of taking garlic and probiotics, my symptoms greatly improved. Then, I stopped, and I almost immediately got the flu-like symptoms again, including: hi fever, very achy body, disrupted bowels.

The other thing is that my asthma has not improved on pulmonological tests since I began taking the serevent. What advice would you have for me, and should I talk to my doctor about getting off of serevent. I have not had major asthma attacks since I was six years old, although my breathing capacity has been quite low my entire life.

From the information that you provided, it is not clear that you do, in fact have asthma.  A good test to see if you have asthma AND determine if the Serevent (salmeterol xinafoate inhalation powder) will be effective is a spirometry followed by a short acting bronchodilator and repeat spirometry.  This simple test will tell you a lot.  You did not mention, but I presume if you are on Serevent, you are on an inhaled steroid at the same time.  Serevent (salmeterol xinafoate inhalation powder) is NEVER recommended as a stand alone therapy for asthma.

Thanks for the advice. I am not, in fact, on another medicine besides the singulair. My pulmonologist has me only on Serevent. I am planning on going to another doctor soon.
