My brother had Asthma as a child and now that he is 36 it has come back and he is having a very hard time with it. He had to have some test done and the results came back today and the doctors have found a spotBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots on his lungs and they also state that his lungs are hard. Could someone PLEASE tell me what does all this means? I AM VERY WORRIED!!!!!!
Hey there lil sis My advice to you would be to do some research and find out about his mineral intake. It could mean the difference between your brother completely ridding himself of Asthma and you coming up with coverup medicine. I can give you some info on it if you would like.
As far as asthma goes, it really never truly goes away, at least that is what my pulmo told me. It can remain well controlled for years without meds and then flare up- which is exactly what happened to me. The spotBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots can mean anything..calcification to cancer being the worst case scenario. Infections can show up as a spotBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots on an xray too. Hard lungs can mean restrictiveRestrictive cardiomyopathy disease, which means any disease process that makes the lungs stiffer thus restricting breathing. Is that what the doctor meant? What tests have they done on your brother...I am betting they did pulmonary function testing (stiff lungs or restrictiveRestrictive cardiomyopathy disease can be picked up on this test) along with a whole bunch of others. I am sorry that I seem vague, there are alot of problems that can cause what is happening to your brother. I hope that you get answers soon..Sunny
