Hello there,
Your question was about asthma. Asthma can be inherited from your parents and can virtually appear over night. I have asthma now, but I
didn't have asthma when I was a young child, say around seven years
old. I developed asthma in my late thirties. Have you been diagnosed
with asthma. Has your doctor prescribed asthma medication?
Do either of your mom or dad have asthma ? Good luck to you. Eve

Hi Annajaden2000,

I use an inhaler too morning and night. I find when I have a cold, my asthma gets worse sometimes. Apparently this is normal and can happen
according to my doctor. What I was going to suggest is this. You could
tell your parents that your asthma is getting worse, that you're concerned
and ask your mom or dad to make an appointment with your family doctor.
Your parents can ask for a referral to an allergist. It's important to know
what thing(s) you are allergic too. There is something called an asthma
trigger. Certain things in your environment are causing your asthma .
You need to know what these things are so you can avoid them if possible.
Possible asthma triggers are cigarette smoke, animal dander, pollen,
cold air and many others. You say your asthma is getting worse, so
you need to have your parents make an appointment with your family
doctor . You may need to be re evaluated. Maybe the inhaler isn't strong
enough in which case you need something else to keep your asthma under control. Don't wait. Talk to your parents and get things moving . Good luck.

I had my first asthma attack when I was 21 years old.  My is a bit unusual though because I don't have it anymore - 100% due to food allergies so as long as I stay away from wheat and dairy I'm symptom free.

In a way we all "just get it" but it is more complex interaction of genes, environment and other factors.

One can start to show symptoms at any age.
