athsma vs. weak lungs

OK so when I was born I was 2 months premature and within the first 24 hours my lungs collapsed they obviously got better. When I was two a doctor diagnosed me with athsma now recently my mom reveille that when I was really young I was proscribed with an inhaler because I had "weak lungs". I don't know when this was. She discounts the original diagnosis of athsma when I was two because of some misdiagnoses the doctor made. I don't remember having any episodes when I was younger but then my athsma is mild. When I was 13 I was proscribed another inhaler, I don't remember what the doctor told me and my grandma, it was during the summer and I had a constant fry cough there were probably other things but I was obviously not paying attention. Now after that I realized that during physical activity I was having difficulty breathing that eased after using my inhaler, note I was paying more attention. And that didn't stop even with being in decent shape and used to doing the same things. Note my mom never discussed athmsa with me and the only reason I know that I was diagnosed with it is because was watching her fill out some school forms and she put on mild athsma. Over the past year or so I have been feeling tightening in the chest and often can't breath easily if I'm on my back. Also I don't usually breath out of my stomach I breath through my mouth and with my rib cage because whether from habit or something else it's easier.. And I still have problems when I'm running and I will admit that I'm not as active as I used to be and it's been getting worse. Now my mom refuses to admit that I have athsma and won't take me to the doctor (note she would have to drive me). She excuses my breathing difficulty as being out of shape and getting winded but my "shortness of breath" has lasted for over ten minutes after I've stopped exercising and have just been sitting. I'll describe how I feel when I'm experiencing "shortness of breath" its like I'm not getting enough oxygen no matter how deeply I breath. At a simple pace I have to breath twice as deep as I would walking and I can't run for very long periods of time (not even a block, or half way from my bus stop) when before school ended in June I could run about 3/4th of the way.
