bronchitis how long can last

i am 39 years old manthat smoke a paket a day for more than 15 years 4 weak ago got a complicaited cold or fluo
from then every day a bout afternon   my chest get taid and hard to brid i am sweting and all my bones in said shaiking it is
geting worst every day
iseen a doctor and he give my antaibouitic and inhiler
and every body saies that it shoud go awy in one week but raghit now it it 4 week
i lost 12 pond from 157
iam so faigthit
i can take it any more
how log this going to last ? and what can i do ? is this bronchitis ?

That's a hard question to answer. Bronchitis can hang on for awhile.
Have you finished your antibiotics? Did they do a chest x-ray?
You may need to try another antibiotic and have more tests done.

Since you are a smoker it might mean you have COPD, defintely need to talk to your doctor and get pulmonary function tests now.  

And of course think very seriously about quitting smoking and your health will get a lot better :)
