I am a 40 year old non-smoker with asthma but normal lung function tests. A recent move meant a new Dr. who wanted a routine chest x-ray which prompted a CT which showed a 1.8cm right hilar lymph node. Had a bronchoscopy but test results are not back. I am not sure what to think or if this could be serious, just looking for some general knowledge and direction.
This could be a very normal finding. Depending on what it looked like on the CT, they may ask you to repeat the chest CT scan in 3 to 6 months. It probably has nothing to do with your asthma. It could be from an old infection.
