i'm being treated for asthma, still have anxiety?

im a 19 yr old girl. recently had a moderate asthma attack (bad chest tightness cough etc) that was very very scary. i took my inhaler then went to sleep. i got diagnosed with mild persistent asthma which they originally said was moderate. i was given qvar preventative inhaler & i am using it one puff at 10 am and one puff at 10 pm. however i also have panic disorder and i am extremely scared feeling like i am destined to die from a severe asthma attack. will the medication prevent me from having a fatal attack? i am very scared and have been very depressed lately..
