is this normal?

i just recently got excersized induced asthma. i was fine i went to the doctor and he gave me serevant which i take before track and volleyball. but today i am just sitting in class and my throat starts feeling really tight and my breath is kinda catching on itself. i dont know what to do i dont want to take the serevant but i probably should help?

Serevent is a dangerous drug that is responsible for many fatalities. There was an FDA public health warning about it in February. If used at all, it is reserved for very severe conditions that have not responded to other treatments. The tightness you feel is a side effect. You probably also have dry mouth. In any case, your condition does not warrant its use. Your doctor is an incompetent jerk.

Serevent is not a rescue medication. That means that it is long-acting and does not give immediate relief. So taking it before you play sports is nonsense. What you need is a simple albuterol inhaler. I use MaxairAutohaler. That works fine. And it won't kill me.
