need some help/support

I'm still having alot of problems. Last night I had to do 3 nebs in a row. I went to the Urgent Care today and the dr. upped my pred again gave me a shot of solu-medral and Biaxin. I see my regular dr. on fri. and I'm going to take it minute by minute. I know I couldn't get through this without the help I get from this board and especially from Jess. But this is getting really old I'm really sick of being sick. I hope when I see the Pulmo on 12/4 he can figure this out.

Well I ended up doing nebs every 4hrs last night and wasn't feeling any better so at 6pm tonight I went in to the ER and that just made me more frustrated because they said everything was fine and it was just anxiety.

Here's what happened tonight I got there at 6 and they took me right back and hooked me up to the machines I was put on 2L of O2 and my sats were between 90-94. The nurse said that my lung sounds were diminished bi laterally in the bases but clear in the top. When the doctor finally came in he listened to me and ordered labs and chest x-ray. The labs came back fine but they had to repeat the x-rays which he then said were ok and wanted to discharge me because all the test came back fine and my sats were fine, I had noticed that after the 2nd set of x-rays when they took me off the O2 my sats were as low as 79 but this was after they had already decided to send me home. I had them call in the on call doctor he ordered and ABG which he said were perfect. So he said my problem was just anxiety, which seems like they were just saying this because they couldn't figure out what was going on. I also disagree with this because I don't feel anxious and when I exert myself I become short of breath and if it was anxiety why would the nebs help enough to bring up my peak flows. So I'm just really frustrated and confused

Anyone on here who has advice or ideas please let me know. I really could use all the help and support any of you can give

Thank You all

Laura

I'm at a loss. I don't understand how O2 sats below 95% can be considered to be "normal". I'm one of those people who don't wheeze till the lungs are quite obstructed, but thankfully I've always been treated despite that. What I have found to be useful is to take your peak flow measurements to your doctor. As greater then 20% variations in your readings from morning to night is considered to be uncontrolled asthma, so is sitting outside of your green zone regularly. With the right inhaled steroid treatment combined with a long acting bronchodilator (ex. Symbicort or Advair), your symptoms should get under control. I agree you should see a pulmonary specialist who can do the appropriate tests to determine what treatments you need to control your symptoms.
