not sleeping

I have had asthma for about 15 years and sometimes have to take prednisone and an antibiotic.  I just did come off of those two meds a couple of weeks ago and haven't been able to sleep hardly at all.  This has never happened before.  I take combivent and flovent 2 times a day and have been doing this for a long time.  I don't understand why I can't sleep when nothing has changed for me.  I have tried pm meds and also ambien with no luck sleeping.  What is going on for this to happen to me?

It depends on the dosage of prednisone and how long you were on it for. I find for myself that I don't tolerate the stuff as well anymore. I do find that 40mg and above on prednisone does throw your sleep off. It takes a while to readjust again. Don't think about it too much, otherwise you will psych yourself out of sleep. Just realize it's from the drugs and eventually your sleep will straighten up again. Could it be that coughing is keeping from sleeping?
