phelgm problem

by Ellen Oboth, Aug 25, 2008 01:47PM
I have had problems with overproduction of phelgm since a child, plus major coughing attacks to the point of expelling a lot of phlegm.  In my late 40's I was finally diagnosed as being born with asthma, yet coughing asthmatics was not understood when I was younger.

Now the doctors are having a difficult time controlling my asthma.  I average 14 to 19 attacks every month since I started recording every attack since 2003.  I still have an ongoing problem with phelgm production.  It is not uncommon after taking my inhalers for me to cough up phelgm, and if my asthma attacks start with coughing I will usually cough until almost to the point of choking, then expelling a lot of phelgm.  I do have numerous allergies, that they can not treat with shots because with testing I go right into a asthma attack.

Is there help or suggestions out there.  THis is gettin quite frustrating to go anywhere without going into an attack.
thanks,
