severe cough with whistling sound

Hi,
For the past two weeks I felt severe dry cough with light whistling sound. As per doctor's advice I am taking Roxythromycin tablet with benadril cough syrup for the past 10 days. But I couldn't find any improvement.Still I am continuin the dosage.

Is it a symptom of Asthma or wheezing? If so, whom I have to consult and what medication I need to take?

Kindly advice me in this regard.

Hi, how old are you? Do you keep having similar kind of attacks often? Probably, this is bronchitis due to viral infection leading to bronchoconstriction causing cough.

Salbutamol inhalers will be helpful. Wheezing is part of bronchoconstriction which can happen without having asthma. Try asthalin inhalations four times a day along with drugs you are taking.
