"the powders" medication for asthma 1950

Hi,

My great grandfather was a bad asthmatic, and in 1950 was given some medication by a doctor in Adelaide called "The Powders".  The container also has a number on it - 152013 (not sure if that is relevant).  It was administered by a chemist in Adelaide called Birks-Chemist.

He only had one dose and forever after only suffered occasional mild wheezing, he lived healthily til his death at 93.
What would the powder have been?  I actually have a very small sample of it in its original container, apparently he was only given two doses, since he used one, there is one left. (I have a grandma who has kept a myriad of things - this included).

In appreciation,
