weak with asthma, apnea, exercise?

I don't know why I'm so weak with asthma and sleep apnea.  I tried running but was exhausted after half a block and couldn't breathe so well.  I should really try running every day to help my lungs and muscles

Unfortunately moving tends to only help in the short term ... If one is prone to allergies you tend to just develop allergies to whatever plants are present over time.

Make sure your overall lifestyle is the best it can be - 7-8 hours of sleep each day, eat only healthy organic food (limit high allergen foods like gluten, dairy, red meat and sugar), exercise daily, limit stress and enjoy time with family and friends.

Another option is to try a naturopath and see if there is anything they can help with.  This would be I'm conjugation with your normal treatment but look at the body differently and therefore can be very positive with chronic conditions.  Look into your area and find someone who has been personally referred to you or at least is registered in conjugation with an association.

Good luck and hopefully you improve soon.

I've seen about 10 pulmonologists but it's always the same thing dulera and sometimes prednisone, nothing helps me to exhale and speak
My O2 was 86% on an oximeter during the day!

I wish amycin had worked for me but then I got an infection and can't exhale now.  I've been thinking of moving to Mexico, I have a lot of american allergies to plants

thanks!  I doubled my dulera and symbicort to 8 puffs and take singulair but I still can't exhale even on prednisone.  prednisone helps my sleep apnea I sleep better on it but then I can't take it every day

there is no sure thing as a true asthma cure - azithromycin only works in a few selective cases and therefore it is probably a subset of asthma.  You are not exhaling well because you have asthma and probably are not taking the correct dosage of meds.

Talk to your doctor and work out a plan for exercise and general symptoms and a time frame about how quickly you move forward in your exercise regime.  I would suggest using a personal trainer - they know when to push the body and when to back down - this will help you learn how to train and exercise probably with your asthma.

I just took 6 weeks of azithromycin as an asthma cure and about 2 months later I couldn't exhale well

returned from the ER from an abscess from diabetes so life isn't great.  I don't know why I can't exhale and can't speak well as a result?

Hi,

Tammy2009 is right, you should use your rescue inhaler 10-15 minutes before you run.

I run, bike and swim, and I find that for some reason, running seems to trigger my asthma more than biking and swimming.  Back in the day, when I first started running, I was able to run about a third of a mile.  I started with 3 mile runs.  I'd run as far as I could, then I'd walk until I caught my breath, then I'd run again as far as I could, etc for the entire 3 miles.  It wasn't long before I was able to run all 3 miles.  You might be running too fast for your fitness level.  I think if you slow your pace a bit, you'll be able to run farther.  Just take it slow in the beginning and don't worry whether you're running fast or slow...your speed will naturally increase as your endurance improves.  And make sure to include at least one rest day during the week, so your body can recover and adapt to the stress of your workouts.

I think that running has helped my asthma because since I started running, my asthma is much better in general.  I do have problems running sometimes when there's a lot of pollen outside, like oak or grass.  When I start having problems with allergies, I take Singulair and Xyzal, which seems to help.

Happy trails!

Try taking your rescue inhaler before you start running - sometimes exercise can trigger asthma attacks.  Your body needs exercise but will take time to build up the fitness.  Start slow but continue - each week you should be able to go farther than before.

Good luck and great job on wanting to work on your fitness levels!
