Asperger's And Kyphosis/Scoliosos Comorbidity ?

After living with stooped posture since age 8 and self-fused thoracic vertebrae since age 13, I experienced sudden and fairly serious failure of connective tissues in my spine at age 49 (two years ago).  This caused redistribution of structural load-bearing duties to other bones which were not designed to do so (sternum etc), and they began to fail as well.   I assumed it was scoliosis, as two female cousins had that diagnosis, and each underwent corrective surgery at age 15.  The diagnosis in my case turned up something I'd never heard of :  "kyphosis" ,  accompanied by only minor scoliosis.  I wear a univalve torso-brace now.  Another bit of never-heard-of-that medical info came to me just as unexpectedly a few months ago (in an article sent by a friend), but this time about my brain/CNS.  It seems quite likely that I have what is named "Asperger's syndrome", a high-functioning form of autism.  While this knowledge has been a source of great relief for me, I've made no moves to seek help or diagnosis because, for all the problems it has caused me since childhood, I've adapted and do not like to think of myself as a victim or sufferer.  But as I researched both conditions on the Internet, I found mention of five other persons whose Asperger's is comorbid with kyphosis and/or scoliosis....

My question is this:   Is there any association between autism-spectrum conditions and spinal conditions beyond such statistically random overlap as might be found between any two pathologies?  If so, are there particular consequences for which I ought to prepare?  Both conditions presently limit my employability, and I suspect the kyphosis limits my energy during excersize and intimacy.  While I hope the answer is "no",  I don't want to assume that (nor worry needlessly, for that matter).  I welcome both professional and personal/anecdotal information anyone cares to give.
