Dyspraxia tendencies?

Dyspraxia tendencies?

Hi, I'm new here.
My middle child is nearly 6 and I am worried about his behaviour and the way he is acting.
Within school he struggles to keep any attention to what is going on, often the teacher has to repeat the task to him many times, before it sinks in. His reading and maths skills are really good, a least a year above his age group. His writing isnt to good and he often gets furstated if he can't write down what he knows is correct in his head. Also every morning he hangs on to me and has to be peeled off me, its strange because he does say he enjoys school and he is settled within 5mins of me going.
At home his behaviour is getting worse, he has major temper tantrums, at least two a week, the other day is was because I wouldn't allow him to have his DS in his bedroom as he was naughty the night before, he is nearly sick because he is crying so much, he is screaming and shouting and running around, it is really dificult to control like that. He has an older brother aged 8 and a little sister aged 4, Nothing has changed at home so there is no need for his behaviour to be like this.
He lives in his own world and he appears to be far away, somewhere else.
The school has said about testing him for Dyspraxia in September, but i'm really worried about him now.
Any advice?

Many thanks

In addition to seeking the assessment recommended by the school, I recommend that you get the support of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who will be able to provide recommendations for addressing your son's tantrums. The website of the behavior analysis certification board (bacb.com) contains a list of certified professionals by state.
