AUTISM & ASPERGER'S SYNDROME EXPERT FORUM
Should I be worried about seizures?

Should I be worried about seizures?

Hi all! I am 20 years old and I have Asperger's. Along with my Asperger's I have a whole host of disorders, most mental. My question is, what is the chance I will develop seizures? I know seizures are common in Autistic people. As of the wee early hours of January 1, 2011 I have only had one confirmed seizure and that was a grand mal/ tonic clonic/generalized (?) seizure after taking some Benedryl as I had not slept well for several days, which is also common with Autism. I have a lot of twitching, which a neurologist haphazardly diagnosed as myoclonus, but I never went back because he kept pushing medication.

Oh, they did do an MRI or CAT Scan or something of my brain after the seizure, but I was knocked out and all I know is that I do not have any brain tumors, which I never suspected in the first place.
