What about advice for adult aspies?

I'm 64.  In the mid-'80's my sister asked me whether I thought I might be like Dustin Hoffman's THE RAINMAN?  A few years ago my wife read me an Ann Landers type of article about Aspergers from the newspaper.  I'd never heard of such.  From time to time since, I've run into more and more information that absolutely leads me to believe that I'm an Aspie.  Just read something that somewhat indicated that Aspies might lack a sense of humor.  Not I!  I've always written humor at a non-stop clip.  I tell jokes and do impersonations, too.  But I digress--not surprising, right?  Ok, so here I am, picked on unmercifully in the seventh grade and always feeling that I did not relate to the world the way others do.  I certainly have always been a loner.  One cousin said, "Give him four walls and he'll keep himself entertained."  Question:  What advice would you give someone my age concerning my condition to improve the years I have left?  You know, I've often allowed folks to chastise me for having two math degrees but not performing in a lucrative capacity.  Now I wonder whether I've actually been an over-achiever to do as well as I've done.  Of course, I have a few extreme positives.  For example, I told someone that, even though I'm paying no attention to a radio or TV, if there's the slightest grammatical error, I'll notice it and correct it, if only in my mind.  She immediately blurted, "Aspergers!"   Sorry for the run-on paragraph, though.
