13 month old baby not pointing yet

my 13 month old baby doesnt point yet but when he want something he try to reach it or he let me know by pulling me. Im kind of affraid because i had hear that babies with autism never point at 12 month. and my baby is 13 month old. I m also concerned because he not always respond when i call his name. when he is watching tv or playing with some toys i can call him 1o times and he doesnt respond, but sometimes i call him once and he instantly answer. he is really affective, friendly he hugs me and play a lot with me and with friends, he love being with kids. he can eat with his fingers he claps he makes kisses sounds, he said mama to me and papa to his dad. he dance he start to walk at 9 month and now he runs. he likes to play with balls cars , he love lights, all kind of buttons he like circles and holes. he has visual contact with me. he understand when i say no and when i say "come with mama"! he understand when dad say bye because he goes direct to the door and when he leave he cry bbut he doesnt wave bye bye that much.
please answer my doubts...thank

My son turns 18 months in a few days and he just started pointing.  As far as building with blocks and putting objects inside of other objects, keep working with him on that by modeling to him.  While you're modeling the behavior, comment on it (ex, "in", eventually "ball in" or the object going in, eventually "mommy putting ball in").  Try to keep your language as simple as possible.  Don't worry, he won't talk in short sentences when he's 5.  This is to help his expressive language to move along.

I wouldn't worry about your child just yet.  He's too young so you've got to give him more time.  Does he enjoy playing with you (clapping, singing, etc)?  What you're describing is exactly my son who's a bit older.  I'm not concerned about him b/c he's very "social" on his level.  Good luck.

hi! thank for ur time!
my baby doesnt put attention when i point somenthing and he doesnt point yet. is something to be worry or i can wait a little bit more?
but when I am playing with him he put all his attention if what im playing and saying and also try to imitate. he is very friendly and when i go to the parks he runs directly to the other kids and start to "talk" to them.

I wouldnt worry about the pointing just yet.  If he is bringing you to think then he is showing you.  Does he have joint attention?  If you point will he follow a point and look back when he sees what you are pointing to?

As far as the name thing goes.  Of course if they are busy they make ignore you but he does respond when not busy with something?

If he is showing interest in ppl and other children that is a great sign!!
