2.5 yr old not talking

2.5 yr old not talking

My son is 3 yr old but not talking even a single word. he started saying 3-4 words when he was 18 months but soon he lost his speech. sometimes he says mamma but then stop saying it too for long time. He understands some instructions not all. otherwise he seems to be normal he play with toys and with other people. He is not aggressive at all. he know what he wants and make us understand by gestures. pls tell me is delayed speech is normal or symptoms of autism.

well i have a autistic son who is now 5 and i swear i did not hear his voice till he was over three

sounds like he could be autistic because he does not follow direction well and does not talk.... how does he play? do certian things bother him ?

you should take him to be assessed

My little brother now 9 was diagnosed with a type of autism and he's globally developmentally delayed.  He was diagnosed at the age of 6 after many many tests, MRI scans the lot, he didn't speak at all till he was approx 5! And was a late walker too.  He does talk now but not very clear on his pronunciation, he's very clever though and can complete a video game in 1-2 days! Lol! He is also very (extremely) loving and nice to everyone and anyone. Which is worrying, coz sum ppl aren't so nice :( he's also quite sensitive and verrry imaginative u can see him sometimes sitting staring into space for ages and then getting really excited about what he's thinking and laughing. Sorry for the essay... Hope it helps
