Autism and food issues anaemia

Hi our son was recently diagnosed with autism and we also found out that he has anaemia as well. This has been explained as probably not getting the right amount of iron from his diet as he has huge food issues. He is on a supplement and has stabilized with this. We thought we were over the worst of the aneamia and last night he started vomitting again it was quite severe and very distressing vomitting. Everything settled and we went to sleep after settling him. I heard a large choking noise and ran in to find him vomitting again this time it was blood a dark colour. Only about a tablespoon. I have rung our paed and he is going to call me back this evening. Just wondering is this related to his anamia as the dr said the reasons for anamia are bleeding from the stomach or diet. We are just worried that this is related to his aneamia problem. Can someone advise us?

Vomiting blood is a medical emergency.  I hope your ped has already called back and instructed you to take him in for tests.
It is likely that there is some GI bleeding causing the anemia.  Has he been tested for H-Pylori?
I hope this all gets resolved soon.
