Does not understand the instructions and is lost in her own world

My daughter is 8 yrs old and I have been frequently getting messages from her teacher that she is lost, she is in her own world, does not speak much to other kids and is happy with herself. At home, we have noticed that we have to repeat the instructions for her if any task given. Ex: please dont make any noise, dont scream.. dont scream... dont scream... at least 7-8 times. Yet she would love to do what she is doing. Is this some kind of problem, how do I get her in the real world from her own world, is it not right that we and her teachers expect her to contribute to what ever is going on in her surroundings?

she may have autism, but you will have to get diagnosed by a doctor. Tell them all those examples you listed and any others you may remember.
