Is she on the spectrum?

My daughter is now 25 months old. When we had her evaluated they said that there was a chance of her being on the spectrum, but I really dont think she is. Our biggest problem is her speech. She talks, but only when she wants to and when she does its very hard to understand. She will repeat us occasionally, but usually only single words. I think she does this more for confirmation than anything. Her speech seems to spontaneous. If you ask her to say something, she may try, but she has a really hard time getting the word out. The funny thing is, she can say it on her own later and in the right context, but usually cant when you ask her. The speech therapist, thinks she may have Apraxia, because she may say a word one way and then say it completely different right after that. In some ways her speech seems to be advanced for her age, when she does say things. Her receptive ability has improved a lot. Before she would only do 1 step commands, but now she is starting to do 2, which makes me very happy.
She is very affectionate, understands emotion well. If her sister is crying she flys all to pieces trying to console her, she will tell me "babies crying".  She brings us toys, comes to us when she is hurt or sick, she is very social, and is beginning to initiate play. She rarely lines things up and only when they are the same object, she does not get mad when we move them. She plays with toys approprietly. She has no problem with a change of schedual or when something different is going on. However, we took her to story time and unlike the other 2 year olds who sat there and listened. She was hyper the whole time and would not sit still. She might not name a animal, but she will make the sound for one. She sings spongebob and head, shoulders, knees, and toes. She can count to 3, name certain colors, and she knows some shapes. She will not show us her body parts most of the time, but she shows us enough for us to know she knows. She will play pat-a-cake and pick-a-boo. She loves too cuddle and to be held. Scratch that, my duaghter confuses me, because she will tell me something or show me something when I ask sometimes, but the other times, she looks at me as if I am crazy.
I love her sooo much, but I am confused. I dont think she is autistic, and neither does her speech therapist, but what will the evaluators say? If its not Autism, what is it?

I think your daughter will be talking a lot soon.  Just because she is in Speech does not mean that she has autism.  My friend's soon did not talk much when he was 2 he had speech for a year and he had a home program. He is four now and talks so much his mom says sometimes he talks too much.
Does your daughter watch Baby Einstein?  There was a news report that children who were watching it developed speech delays.  My son watched it alot and had the speech delay.

She makes great eye contact and absolutely loves to play with other children. Its just frustrating, because she doesn't have even most of the symptoms, but her speech is so off.

Does she make eye contact?  She seems to have some positive behaviours.  I'm not sure if she has autism or not.  My son was borderline.  He didn't make good eye contact and he was lining his cars up during the evaluation.  As a result my son gets free preschool at one of the best preschools in the city.  Does she play with other children at the park?  My son was the same way during story time, all the kids would be listening and he would be running around the room.  He did the hand flapping too.  Keep me posted on how things go.  I know it is very stressful and painful, but everything will be OK.

One more thing. She does walk on her toes every now and then and hand flaps when she is super exited. I have seen all sorts of other kids do this, though.
