Refusal to pee on the toilet!

Hello,

I have a 6 yr old K student with moderate to severe autism, who we are working on toilet training with.  He has chronic constipation, which leads to frequent sudden BMs throughout the day.  Because of this we are leaving the student in pull-ups, as his doctor believes BMs are not something he will have the ability to control. We are having a heck of a time toilet training this student.  

Here is what we have done sofar:

Track the times he pees throughout the day so we have a sense of when he will need to go
"Flood" him with liquids and spend 2 full school days on the toilet so he gets an idea of what we want him to do
Follow a picture schedule including a picture of peeing on the toilet
Reserve his favorite treat (chocolate pudding) only for when he pees on the toilet

The problem is, he just holds it in!  He will sit for upwards of 90-120 minutes (with vidoes, songs, toys, etc) before going on the toilet, beyond when he would normally pee if he was walking around in his pull up.  For example, normally he goes at around 10:10 in his pull-up.  If he is on the toilet, he will hold it in until 11:30-12:00.  Our hope was eventually he would give in and start using the toilet so he could go on with his daily routine and not sit on the toilet all day.  This has been going on for 3 weeks and he simply spends most of his day sitting on the toilet, holding in his pee, asking for "pants on" so he can pee in his pull-up

Monday we started cutting a hole in his pull up so he could experience being wet.  He does not seem to care.

My Autistic son is 11 and we thought he would NEVER potty train. He did a lot of the things you mentioned in your post. One day he just got it......and would pee in the toilet. I believe he didn't feel the urge like other kids did. BMs have been longer coming- it has been a year since he realized those go in the toilet and he doesn't always do that. It just takes patience and he will get it. I would reinforce that we pee on the potty and ask if he has to go....I don't like the sitting on the toilet all day thing that you are doing. As a parent I would be opposed to that!
For the record....it seems as if everything we tried didn't work...all the treats, everything! I can't stress enough that one day it JUST HAPPENED and he went on from there like he had been doing it his whole life!

Thanks for the encouragement.  For the record, I did have parent support to "spend the day" on the toilet.  I was pretty vague in my post (looking back now I see how it sounds dreadful) but we don't literally spend the day sitting.  He stood up for a good portion, jumping around, playing with bubbles, and when he was sitting he was reading his alphabet books, watching his favorite videos, etc.  For the most part he had a blast, just when he REALLY had to go he would get antsy.  We have made a lot of progress this way - it finally clicked for him what we wanted him to do and now he will go right away when we bring him to the bathroom, however he still wets in his pull-up if we don't have him go every hour or so.  Our next step is he only gets his reward (we found ho-hos are super motivating!)  when his pull-up is dry.

you have to make potty time a game must student get off bus to enter school and take time for bathroom because of long bus rides . ok put it on a schedule putt color cearel in the tolet  show  him the cereal  prepare him for tolet ting help with aim and say how many can you hit when sucessful reinforcentments are valued . and bm are the hardest some children need soft surfaces or some like my prefferr to swat over tolet so ever bathroom trip suggest that he sits for at 3min sooner or later he will go my 8 yrs old was trained at 5 yrs old he is also sever with asd. and that work for us and he has be going on his own ever sent he became confident it took about 2mths
