how can I best support my husband with Asberger Syndrome?

I needed some helpful recommendations on how to offer support to my husband who has Asberger Syndrome. My husband and I dated for two years before we got married. He's very intelligent, has a good job and he seemed like a perfect match for me other than a few times when I was absolutely in shock from his calm mood to a sudden angry rage. His yelling and his sudden rages terrified me to the point where I would somtimes cry. It only happened twice in the years we were married so I never really thought too much about it. When our daughter was born, his rages and yelling became a daily event. It was so bad I often took my baby in our room and locked it to get away from him. I would be shooken up with fear for days and he, to my complete surprise acted as if nothing happened!! Needless to say, I hoped it would pass but it never did. He could be the nicest man around and then get explosive! I always had to watch what I said around him or I knew the house would shake. He never quit until our 4 year old son told the daycare that his father yelled all the time at home. The yelling and the screaming then stopped. My 6 year old daughter is being assessed for asburger syndrome and my husband has all of the signs himself: almost no eye contact with people, hates chit chat, very intelligent, serious look on his face, lack of understanding empathy and poor control on his emotions. He still yells maybe twice a week but he has agreed to be assesed in private in September for Autism. I want to support him....but I feel sick every times he gets explosive around me and the kids. How can I support my husband and at the same time shield myself and my children from his rages?
