I'm by no means an expert, however I have heard of something called (if I remember the term correctly) "silent seizures". Basically, the only sign that the seizure is occuring is a distant gaze. They are very rare, and very difficult to diagnose.
I hope this helps.
Good luck in finding the answers to help your angel.
God bless.
Hi birdo,
This sounds a lot like my problem. I'm trying to figure out if I have autism as well. I can understand everything your son is going through. I have been to a psychologist numerous times and can't remember a single word of what they said, apart from like identity crisis etc, which is complete BS.
I would have him IMMEDIATELY checked by every neurologist you can. This will put your son's mind at ease and yours. It does sound like he has a neurological problem but don't worry he is not alone. I had an EEG done which had some abnormalities (this particularly checks for epilepsy). I would get one done as well and possibly an QEEG which is more definitive.
God bless and whatever your son has remember he is not alone. Take care
We are going that route. Just in case. It doesn't take the form of epilepsy because he can forget an entire day. I'm not convinced this is for the autism forum. Psychosis is not a common trait in the autistic world. It can happen, but not likely. It's more of a mood disorder.
I would have him see a neurologist to rule out some form of epilepsy which can commonly occur in people with autism.
