For the poop getting stuck: Magnesium citrate works to help break really hard #2 up (if your child holds it in for too long) combined with doing miralax (not at the same time, but I usually do the miralax and then do one day with the magnesium citrate without the miralax if the increased dose of miralax didn't get it out. You can get magnesium citrate over the counter. Ask the pediatrician or pharmacist before using it, though. I got permission to do so for my daughter, but I had to inquire with the doctor... the doctor seemed to prefer the enema route, but the magnesium citrate is a lot less horrifying to your child.
