Hi,
I was posting on the ebv page and I have found out that my daughter was misdiagnosed with mono. We had taken her to a pediatric infectiousInfectious endocarditis Infectious mononucleosis Infectious mononucleosis #3 disease specialist bc she has been sick since April. She had a horrible sickness in April that was diagnosed at the time as adnoevirus. She never really recovered fully from it. I kept taking her to the dr. and they drew some blood and some of her ebv titers were slightly positive but she did not have antibodies. She was retested again bc she was not improving and her tests showed the same thing. The infectiousInfectious endocarditis Infectious mononucleosis Infectious mononucleosis #3 disease Dr. ran a lot of blood work. Everything came out normalNormal saline flush except that her fana was 1 - 80 (borderlineBorderline personality disorder positive). Her sed rate was low, her crp was .08, the whole enzyme panel was normalNormal saline flush, cmvAcute cytomegalovirus (cmv) infection Cmv serology test was neg, she is not anemic but out of the 20 antibodies tested on the rhumatologic panel only the fana was borderline positive. The dr made clear that she never had ebv/mono. Her symptoms are fatigue, vitilago on her face, muscle and joint pain, post external malaise. Her appetite is good and she has not lost or gained weight. We are now waiting to see a pediatric rhumatologist. She is a year round swimmer and has not been able to swim for two weeks due to fatigue. Is this lupus? Does anyone have any insight into what this could be?
