ADEM recovery

I was just dx with adult ADEM. In dec. 2012 and lost my vision on the left, and became paralyzed on my left side. I was in the hospital for 1.5 months and only regained vision and speech. Has anyone had similar effects? How long before you walked again? How do you walk? I'm scared and have lost my freedom and independence. Can't drive. Can't walk. Had to shave my head bc I can't do my hair :-( please adult ADEM survivors get a hold of me!!!
