Thank you,yes that answered my question thank you for the post.I go for results on mon. and will let you know the results.
First off, I would like to welcome you to medhelp and also let you know this is a volunteer forum of just regular people like yourself, who want to share their own personal experiences. I've learned a great deal on this web site and hope that we can help you as well.
The only ANA I'm familar with is called the titer. It goes like this
1:40
1:80
1:160
1:320
1:640
1:1.280
Do you see the pattern? Each time the lab person washes the blood sample and still sees the antibody, the titer doubles each time. Usually they don't pay too much attention unless it gets around the 320 or 640 mark. For me, they didn't pay much attention until it reached 2,560. But I had to spend time in the sun to get that kind of level. (you would have to have lupus in order for the sun exposure to cause your ANA to spike like that.)
I hope that answered your question.
